They need money, we need sex. Dispersed through this story, and often at a diagonal to it, are bar-room opinions that yet do not amount to a reactionary programme. The love here, though we’re to take its loss as devastating, seems more like a sort of warm fellow-feeling that bubbles youellebecq in between bouts of fucking.

Platform by Michel Houellebecq. He’s dirty, he’s cynical and unrelentingly critical critical is a benign word for his skewering, by the by of contemporary French and American culture and society. Houellebecq states the facts in a very matter-of-factly and assured fashion one wonders what kind of field research he went through to writer “Platform”.
At such times, Michel sounds like Pim Fortuyn. And on the topic of cocksucking, apparently it’s A-OK as long as the cock in question is Michel’s, otherwise it’s proof that you’re a little worthless slut. Houellebecq, in my opinion, doesn’t have the chops.

In the “Myth of Sisyphus” Camus examines the absurdity of human existence through a careful analysis of whether or not we should commit suicide. Initially, the name “Venus clubs”—an allusion to the Villa Venus clubs dreamed of by Eric Veen in Vladimir Nabokov’s classic Ada or Ardor —is suggested, but is rejected as being too explicit. Anyway, MH-the-protagonist goes on at length about how in the West we all run around working like mad and making money and in the process becoming so exhausted that sex — never mind love — becomes far too much trouble.

Perhaps this is just a lovely fable. Strangely, Houellebecq’s cold, almost brusque cataloguing platdforme sex acts actually worked pretty effectively here. I would like to refer to my friend Jean’s O yes! Blah blah blah I could go on and on. But his main characteristic is his fear of Muslims. Michel is the Muslims’ friend. In “Platform” Houellebecq examines the absurdity of human existence through a careful analysis of the marketing strategy of mid-market I admire how French intellectuals can look at the same fundamental issues of the human condition from so many different angles.
She loves her job, and takes great pleasure in doing houellebevq to the best of her ability.
